OMAN. Penal Code of 16 February 1974.
Article 242. Whoever intentionally carries out an abortion on a pregnant woman against her will shall be punished with imprisonment of at least five years.
Article 343. Whoever through any means performs an abortion on a pregnant woman with her consent shall be punished with six months’ to six years’ imprisonment unless there is an emergency and a physician who fulfills the legal requirements undertakes the abortion in the justified conviction that it is the only means of saving the life of the woman.
Article 244.A woman who through any means performs an abortion on herself or allows another person to perform the abortion shall be punished with three months’ to three years’ imprisonment.
Article 245. If an abortion leads to death of a woman, the perpetrator shall be punished with imprisonment of at least seven years.
Article 246. Whoever:
1. employs one of the measures described in Article 34, paragraphs 2 and 3, of this Law for the purpose of diffusing and promoting or facilitating the use of means for abortion, or
2. sells, offers for sale, or obtains for the purpose of sale substances that are designed for abortion or in any way facilitates their use shall be punished with the same penalty set forth in Article 243.
